GroupLogic Upgrades MassTransit File Transfer Solution to Include Outlook Integration
Enhancements make MassTransit the easiest-to-use solution for secure transfer of large files in business environments; help substantially reduce storage and email server-licensing costs for customers
Arlington, VA — May 3, 2011 — GroupLogic, the industry’s leading provider of software products that unlock the power of new enterprise platforms, today launched a new version of its award-winning MassTransit solution, designed to ease electronic transfers of large files in business environments. This significant upgrade adds an optional plug-in for Microsoft Outlook, substantially improving the end-user experience by allowing them to invoke MassTransit seamlessly from their existing email client in order to securely send large files.
To integrate MassTransit into Outlook, IT administrators need only to go through a one-time set-up of the plug-in for users, indicating what size attachments should be sent via MassTransit (versus as a regular email file attachment). They can choose to have all attachments sent via MassTransit, or only files over a certain size. Higher volumes of attachments sent via MassTransit will help reduce the load and traffic flowing through email servers, helping to save money on storage and email server licensing. Once the plug-in is configured, MassTransit is invoked automatically within Outlook to send attachments. Users do not need to take any additional steps to use MassTransit for file transfers; they just attach the file to an Outlook email as they normally would.
MassTransit is in use at some of the world’s most innovative companies, including Christie’s and International Greetings.
Other enhancements in this latest release of MassTransit include:
- Check-Point Restore which ensures that when network connections are interrupted and then restored, MassTransit resumes the transfer from where it left off rather than starting from scratch. This is a significant time saver when sending large files.
- Web Portal Skinning, which allows companies to fully customize the look-and-feel of landing pages that recipients see when they access files, for brand consistency.
“We are pleased to offer this upgraded version to existing customers as well as enterprises in need of secure file transfer solutions,” said Marcelo Andrieu, Product Manager. “We are committed to listening to our customers and the marketplace to bring to market innovative features like the Outlook plug-in that enables enterprises to ensure the secure delivery and encryption of files regardless of client software.”
MassTransit 7.2 will be generally available on May 3, and can be purchased and downloaded directly from the GroupLogic website at http://www.grouplogic.com/products/masstransit/. Potential users are also invited to trial MassTransit for free at the same URL. The MassTransit plug-in for Outlook is optional and priced separately, and is offered as an add-on to current customers.
